Climbing around Kemer: Choose the area before the route

Coast and hinterland offer very different climbing days. This overview helps with travel planning and does not replace a current climbing guide.

Our existing research distinguishes Çalıştepe, Karataş and Beycik, alongside the larger regional destinations of Geyikbayırı and Olympos. They are not interchangeable map pins. First compare access, intended difficulty and the kind of day you want. Travelling with your own equipment requires different arrangements from a supervised introduction.

Parts of the Karataş documentation come from a historical guide published in 2001. Old route descriptions do not establish the present condition of protection. Obtain current local information about access and the specific line. Canyon activities also differ from freely accessible sport climbing: Göynük Canyon and an equipped climbing route are separate propositions.

Plan the final approach and return journey explicitly. A coastal bus connection does not prove a connection to the cliff. Include experience, group size and required supervision in your enquiry. Current courses, a regular shuttle and equipment rental are not automatically included. A named provider must confirm the particular day.
